Construction Signage That Counts

Construction sites offer a flurry of activity from people walking to moving vehicles, swinging parts and digging into the ground. With so much activity it can be easy for people to be distracted by one area and miss another. Proper signage at a construction site can help highlight safety guidelines to help people stay safe and pay attention to important details.

Here are some reasons safety signage is important.

Injury Rates

It’s been reported that “injury rates in construction are 71% higher than injury rates across all industries on average”, according to the National Center for Biotechnology Information. What if it was possible to reduce the rates by adding some simple signage to the construction site? Check out our Types of Safety Signage to Consider article.

OSHA Requirements

OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) has a risk reduction program that highlights the importance of reducing risk in the workplace. Factors include reducing the frequency of risky activities, driving down the likelihood of injury and implementing programs to control the severity of injuries.

One way that construction sites can manage these risks is through appropriate signage. Job sites that do not offer the required OSHA signage are subject to hefty fines.
