Can office work be seasonal? We’ve seen a huge pendulum shift from working in the office to remote work and now hybrid/flex hours. But what if our roots as “animals “were ingrained in being season?

There are animals that go through a season of gathering and then a season of hibernation. What if humans were hardwired the same way? What if we performed at our peak during certain seasons in the office and then at home at other times of the year?

Gensler posed this exact question along with some insights in their recent article, The Future of Work Is Seasonal. While the answer may depend on your industry, it leads to an interesting thought on how employee performance and operational costs could ebb and flow to improve the bottom line for business.
